Job description
The Risk Division at NFU Mutual is undergoing an exciting transformation. Operational risk is now evolving into two distinct disciplines - enterprise risk and operational risk - creating broader opportunities for you to explore a variety of specialisms. Whether it's information security, business continuity, or strategic risk management, you'll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of risk in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
Join our Risk graduate scheme and become an integral part of our mission to manage risk across NFU Mutual. Our dedicated Risk teams support business objectives by helping to deliver customer benefits through a comprehensive understanding of regulatory rules, enabling informed, risk-based decisions. In this role, you'll contribute to our success by safeguarding NFU Mutual against a wide range of risks, including strategic, financial, and operational threats.

Your rotations will involve tackling real business challenges, such as reviewing security controls, developing robust plans for operational resilience, and ensuring our data protection measures are up to date. You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders, from IT experts to senior leaders, gaining invaluable exposure across the business.
Your role will require critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong communication skills as you create and test business continuity plans to ensure we're prepared for any eventuality, from cyber-attacks to market disruptions. You'll also have the chance to engage in exciting project opportunities, especially in response to regulatory changes that shape our industry.
Plus, you'll have the opportunity to complete professional qualifications, such as:
- ISC2 Cyber Security Qualification (for those keen to understand cybersecurity)
- CBCI (Certificate in Business Continuity) (for those focusing on resilience)
- CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) (for those interested in data protection)
You’ll thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment where sharing knowledge and challenging conventional thinking is encouraged.
As a graduate, you’ll be supported by a buddy, mentor and graduate network, and benefit from structured development, regular feedback, and opportunities to gain professional qualifications. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values fresh thinking and empowers you to make a real impact.
