Insurance Pricing Analyst Graduate Scheme

Job description

In our exciting 3-year scheme, you’ll dive into various aspects of insurance pricing with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Extracting, cleaning, and analysing data for modelling purposes.
  • Conducting complex analyses - like multivariate, root cause, and performance testing - to inform continuous improvement of our data and models.
  • Refining and operating pricing models and reporting results to support informed business decisions.
  • Developing rating logic that ensures effective pricing outcomes.
  • Implementing quality control processes to guarantee that our models and data deliver the expected outputs.
  • Preparing reports, communicating findings, addressing queries, and taking ownership of follow-up actions to provide excellent service to both the team and business stakeholders.

You’ll work collaboratively on daily tasks while also having the chance to participate in exciting projects and change initiatives.

What we are looking for

To join this scheme, you’ll need to have achieved, or be on track for, at least a 2:1 degree. We welcome applications from a wide range of disciplines, not just STEM. If your studies – for example in economics, business, finance, geography, psychology, politics, sociology, philosophy, or even humanities subjects like history or linguistics – have equipped you with strong numerical, analytical, or problem-solving skills, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll have a passion for learning and a curious mind, and we’ll also be looking out for:

  • Teamwork and collaboration skills – essential for working alongside diverse teams to share insights and tackle pricing challenges.
  • Communication skills – crucial for clearly presenting complex analyses and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills – key for dissecting data sets and conducting sophisticated analysis, enabling you to identify trends and improve pricing models.
  • Digital literacy – important for when learning our variety of tools and software, such as Emblem, Radar, ‘R’, SQL, and Python.
  • Problem-solving ability – important for tackling complex challenges, thinking creatively, and finding practical solutions that add real value.
  • Self-motivation and adaptability – vital for taking initiative on projects and adjusting to changes in a dynamic industry.

How to apply

If your application is shortlisted, you’ll be invited to complete an online assessment designed to measure your potential for success, such as your ability to learn and solve problems. Should you be successful, you’ll move on to a short video interview. The final stage will be an in-person assessment centre, where you’ll participate in a variety of activities, including a group exercise, a role-specific exercise, and a skills-based interview. These are set to take place on 4th and 9th December.
