Solicitor Apprentice

Job description

The programme combines practical, work-based learning with formal study at the University of Law, working towards qualification as a Solicitor.

You will spend your first two years working at an administrator level in the support team of one of our four core fee-earning departments. In years three and four, you’ll be working at a paralegal level, with more involvement in fee-earning matters. In years one to four, you will change departments each September, before joining our Trainee cohort in years five and six, where you’ll rotate seats every four months. You’ll spend one day a week out of the office for your off-the-job learning and academic studies.

By the end of the Solicitor Apprenticeship you’ll be a fully qualified Solicitor. You’ll have completed a LLB (Hons) from the University of Law and the SQE, with six years of practical experience across multiple practice areas.

For every department you are in, you will be assigned a mentor. This is usually a recently qualified associate, who you will have regular catch-ups with and will be your go-to person for any department related advice. You will also be allocated a supervisor who will give you ongoing feedback and training.

As a firm, we are committed to high-levels of pastoral care and as such, you will also have regular catch-ups with a member of the HR team, who is there to support you with whatever you might need, and to make sure you are getting the support you need within your department.

Outside of scheduled meetings, we have an open door policy when it comes to supporting and encouraging our apprentices, and the overall culture of the firm is very personal and friendly.
