Our two-year Evolve programme offers you an exciting opportunity to join our Project Management and Delivery career pathway. We’re looking for amazing graduates and aspiring future leaders to join us and shape the future of AWE.

What to Expect on the Programme
The Projects and Programmes teams are key enablers of AWE’s mission. As part of the Project Management and Delivery function you will apply and grow your skills, knowledge and experience and learn more about what you enjoy and where you want to take your career.

You could start your journey in any of our project areas, focusing on the disciplines within Project Management/Delivery or Project Control. It's all about learning about the business, building your leadership skills and having some great experiences.

  • During the programme there will be opportunities to (including but not limited to):
  • Learn about leadership in a large organisation
  • Get involved in all aspects of delivering a project.
  • Understand how a complex organisation works and fits together
  • Develop further in an area of particular interest in year 2
  • Take part in potential placements working in project teams on Major New Build projects / Science / Stockpile / Replacement Warhead / Nuclear Threat Reduction.
  • Undertake internal and external training

The structured programme comprises of a series of placements (outlined above) to help accelerate your learning and advance the development of your skillsets. You’ve got the potential, and we’ll prepare you for the future. You will also get the opportunity to start working towards chartership.

What we are looking for

  • Ideally, we are after those who are studying or have studied a degree in project management or business management, but we are open all degree disciplines. Before starting with the business, you will need to be able to provide evidence that you have attained a minimum of a 2:2 in your degree.
  • You must be able to join AWE in September 2026. We recruit on a rolling basis which means as soon as our positions have been filled, we will close.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. Please note that you must be a British National to apply for a role with us.

Our process is designed to be simple, fair and transparent:

  2. Online Tests – If shortlisted, you’ll complete numerical, verbal, logical and cognitive assessments. Practice materials will be available to ensure you know what to expect.
  3. Virtual Assessment Centre – Successful candidates will be invited to virtual AC’s running Nov–Dec 2025, with pre-assessment webinars to guide you.

You must be a British National, able to start in September 2026, and eligible for security clearance. Applications close on Friday 24th October, but will close earlier if we receive enough applications, so apply early.
