Job description
As a Rehousing Officer working in a busy front line homelessness service, you will play a critical role in helping families in temporary accommodation secure moves into settled homes.
Working directly with a limited number of homeless families at a time, you will provide intensive support and advice to enable them to access good quality housing options based on their circumstances.
You will be joining a team committed to making a positive difference to people’s lives at the start of an exciting change in approach to supporting household sin temporary accommodation
Whilst working in the team will be challenging and fast paced, you’ll be supported to achieve success, developing new skills and experience along the way.
What we are looking for
As a highly motivated individual with a passion for supporting people, you will employ your skills to build positive relationships, problem solve and work flexibly to help households secure positive housing solutions. You will be able to have impactful conversations that balance the need to genuinely respond to peoples’ wishes whilst also acknowledging the realities of a shortage of affordable accommodation.
You won’t need experience in a housing role but must have the ability to quickly develop a solid understanding of housing law and practice. You will be highly articulate both verbally and in writing, able to communicate complicated information in an accessible way.
