Operations Graduate

Job description

Are you passionate about the future of rail transport? Do you want to be part of a team that’s shaping the next generation of trains using cutting-edge technology? Look no further! Join us as a SRSUK Operations Graduate on an 18 month programme.

We are looking to appoint an Operations Graduate to work alongside the Chief Operating Officer. Initially offered as an 18-month programme to ensure a thorough grounding in the business, the purpose of this programme is to build a future Operations Manager who can work closely with our Location Managers on their Operational site issues.

What does the programme entail?

Within this 18-month period, you will work in three different departments for six months each:

  • Mobilisation: During your first six months, you will work at our Newcastle location working closely with the Head of Mobilisation supporting them to deliver our new projects from concept to operations.
  • Project Management: Here you will work from our Liverpool location and be given the tools which we use for project management and how that enables our approach to delivering for our customers.
  • Procurement and Supply Chain: Here you will work between our Liverpool and Newcastle sites and gain an understanding of the work required to ensure that the materials required to keep our trains on track are there when we need them most.

In addition to the programme schedule, you will receive training inputs into strategy, finance, leadership and other key business topics with fellow graduates from other Stadler locations at our Headquarters in Switzerland.

During this period, you will develop the tools necessary to begin taking on your own workload in the form of small operations projects. You will be involved in supporting external client stakeholder management through meeting attendance and internal preparation meetings, with the support of the wider department.

You will develop an understanding of the processes required for project success and will, by the end of the placement, be able to take responsibility for tasks in our operations department.

Why join us

  • Innovative Environment: Work with the latest technology in the rail industry, contributing to the development of state of the art trains.
  • Growth and Development: Be part of a dynamic company with an order book extending into the next decade, ensuring long-term career opportunities and stability.
  • Passionate Team: Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals who share your enthusiasm for rail transport and innovation.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our growing number of customers across the UK.
  • Diversity, Equality and Inclusive: Be part of our mission to expand diversity, equality and inclusion within our workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. We believe that a variety of perspectives and background improves our team and drives our success.

What we will offer you in return

In addition to an excellent growth opportunity to work with a senior leader responsible for running the day-to-day operations of a busy engineering services business, we will offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • 25 days Holiday Entitlement plus bank holidays per annum
  • 36 hour working week.
  • Salary sacrifice led pension plan that matches employee contributions up to 10% upon successful completion of probation.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Wellbeing programme that supports employees with their physical and mental health.
  • Competitive employee discount platform that provides employees discounts with leading brands and retailers.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Enhanced Family Friendly Benefits.
  • Company Sick Pay upon successful completion of probation.
