Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Job description

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the Project Manager (Marketing & Communications) to raise awareness of Carers and the support available across all Forward Carers programmes. This includes promoting innovation projects such as BEAM, supporting Birmingham Carers Hub and Walsall Carers Hub, and contributing to our national Carer Friendly Communities work.

The role will manage digital content, coordinate campaigns to reach hidden Carers, and ensure inclusive, engaging information is shared across multiple platforms.

This position would particularly suit a recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Media or a related field, or someone seeking an internship or structured placement to gain hands-on experience in a values-led social enterprise.

Your Impact

As Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you will:

  • Support the delivery of organisation-wide campaigns to raise awareness of Carers.
  • Promote Forward Carers services, including wellbeing programmes, assessments, and events.
  • Develop engaging content for websites, newsletters, and social media.
  • Work with Carers and partners to co-produce campaigns that reflect lived experience.
  • Ensure branding, messaging, and funder acknowledgement requirements are consistently applied.
  • Your work will increase Carer awareness, reduce stigma, and help hidden Carers come forward to access support.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Campaign Delivery

  • Support the Project Manager to deliver marketing and communications plans across all contracts.
  • Coordinate “Hidden Carers” campaigns and other targeted awareness initiatives.
  • Create accessible and inclusive materials using Canva (or similar platforms).
  • Draft newsletters, blogs, press releases, and Carer case studies.

Digital & Media

  • Manage website content updates (WordPress).
  • Plan and schedule posts using Hootsuite across social channels.
  • Produce graphics, short videos, and digital storytelling content.
  • Monitor analytics to track and report campaign reach.

Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Work with Forward Carers delivery partners to promote services.
  • Support commissioner-facing reports and promotional outputs.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across partner networks.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Record and track communications outputs for funder and internal reporting.
  • Collect and share Carer stories and visual assets.
  • Support quarterly reporting and impact evidence.
