Job description
You’ll join a small, collaborative team working on real-world credit and lending challenges. You’ll support us in analysing credit applications, payment behaviour, and member data to help make better, fairer decisions.
You’ll also get to work with multiple data sources — including Open Banking and Credit Reference Agency data — to improve affordability assessments and build the next generation of inclusive credit products.
What You’ll Do
- Analyse member and application data to assess credit risk and affordability trends
- Support the development and monitoring of risk scorecards and decisioning logic
- Investigate early arrears, non-payment trends, and member outcomes
- Work with CRA and Open Banking data to spot risk indicators and inform lending decisions
- Develop dashboards and reports for internal use
- Help us shape data-driven policies for responsible, inclusive lending
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance and compliance teams on insights and performance

What we are looking for
We’re open to candidates from a variety of paths — recent graduates, apprentices, or those with 1–2 years’ experience. What matters most is a curiosity for data, problem-solving mindset, and a desire to use data to make a difference.
Essential:
- A degree (or apprenticeship) in a numerate or analytical field — e.g. maths, economics, data science, computing, finance
- Basic experience with computer programming (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python or R) and statistical techniques
- Comfortable interpreting numbers and telling clear data stories
- An interest in financial inclusion, credit risk, or fintech
Nice to have:
- Exposure to credit/lending environments
- Experience using CRA or Open Banking data
- Familiarity with scorecards, affordability assessments, or model validation
- Knowledge of UK regulatory landscape (e.g. FCA guidelines on responsible lending)
- Confident with Excel and ideally some data viz tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
